17.12.09 | The Unknknown:The devil made flesh #3

December 16 The third issue of "The Unknown: The devil made flesh" came out. A preview can be found here and
here. Still one issue to go. The hardback with the entire story will be out somewhere in the first half of 2010.

18.11.09 | The Unknown hardcover

Today the "The Unknown"-hardcover, containing the full first "The Unknown"-story, an introduction by writer Gail Simone (Wonder Woman, Welcome to tranquility, The Simpsons, Killer princesses and more) and all the variant covers of the separate comics, came out. The HC is extremely well got-up and printed. For the wrap protecting the leather cover they have chosen the design artist Erik Jones painted earlier for the second comic-issue of the story.

07.11.09 | The Unknown: The devil made flash #2

Last Wednesday the second issue of "The devil made flesh" - the new story arc of "The Unknown", written by Mark Waid and drawn by myself - was released. Just like the first issue it had quite some pretty reviews:

Comicswaitingroom.com
Craveonline.com
Fandomania
Comicbookresources.com
Newsrama.com

01.11.09 | Interview

Charles Webb did an entertaining interview interview with me for Comics Bulletin.
His questions lead us from the character Clauda Brücken, wich started it all, to Catherine Allingham, the lead charachter of the American comic series "The Unknown", written by Mark Waid and drawn by me.

30.09.09 | New arc for the Unknown

In stores today: The first issue of the new "The Unknown"-arc. The titel for this story is
"The devil made flesh" and again the story is told in four parts.

29.09.09 | Nicky Saxx and the mysterious falsifications

At the the Comic-convention in Houten, last weekend, I was confronted with old(?) numbered
and signed hardcover Nicky saxx-collections, published by our former Dutch publisher
Boumaar. The signatures where neither the one of writer Willem Ritstier or mine, the one of
the artist. But it seems like the one who threw them on the marked wants to pass the
signature for mine. We don't know who this person is yet but we do know fans who bought
them paid quite a large amount for it,
When signed by me, the signature should look like one of the three at the image below.
The lower one is the one I used in my early days, later on I used the one at the top right
and the more simple version with just my surname at the top left I use nowadays.

06.09.09 | Update The Unknown

The final chapter of the first arc of "the Unkown" came out a week ago. Same time I'm
finishing the art of the first issue of the next arc, "the Unknown 2: the devil made flesh".
Again, this arc will be a miniseries off 4 comics every month. Meantime there was a review
of the first arc in its entirety on the Comics Waiting Room
and a new interview with writer/creator Mark Waid on Broken Frontier.

18.07.09 | The Unknown #3

This week part 3 of the Unkown came out. Private eye Cat Allingham and her assistant Doyle end up in a rather weird place somewhere in Eastern-Europe.

And when you're able to read Dutch there is an interview online comicmagazine "Stripelmagazine" did with me and writer Willem Ritstier about the new westerncomic we do for Eppo-magazine.
24.06.09 | New art

Some new art has been added to the website. In the "European comics"-menu, section "Ronson inc." there are
finally some pages to be seen. In the "US-comics"-menu there is an addition called "Just for fun" in which
I'll show US-comics related material like art I have drawn just for fun or for commissions, stuff I did for
submissions and pitches, and single covers I did for comics owned by other creators. Next to this there are
some new pages in the "Unknown"-section, now the first mini-series nearly has been finished..
10.06.09 | The Unknown #2

Today the second issue of "The Unknown" came out. Follow the adventures of Cat Allingham
and Matt Doyle, racing against the clock while Cat's life is at stake. A preview can be
read here.
23.05.09 | The Unknown sold out!

BOOM!-studios has announced THE UNKNOWN #1 has sold out in only one week. BOOM! will be
immediately sending THE UNKNOWN #1 back to the presses for a second print to meet demand.

22.05.09 | Ronson Inc. in Eppo

Of course my colleague and cartoon-artist Mars Gremmen portrayed me partly inspired by the openings-page of this website. And inside Eppo-magazine there is an interview with me about the comic.

15.05.09 | In stores!

Meantime I'm working on the third issue. Shown here the are three final cover-variants.
It's not totally clear what happened to my cover-variant. Maybe it will be in the trade
or something.

For now it feels great. I only hope my comps will be here soon, takes nearly a @$%^!!!-week
to get them from LA to my side of the world.
06.09.09 | Update The Unknown

18.07.09 | The Unknown #3

10.06.09 | The Unknown #2

inzet haar eigen leven. Een preview is hier te lezen.
23.05.09 | The Unknown uitverkocht

22.05.09 | Ronson Inc. in Eppo

"The Unknown".

http://trashcookies.com/?p=401 (scroll down)

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=user_review&id=997
http://comicbookjesus.wordpress.com/2009/05/11/the-unknown-1-review/

27.04.09 | The Unknown's unknown

Vaneta Rogers did an interview
with me on Newsarama.
And the cover Paul Pope made for The Unknown #1 did get a new color.

22.04.09 | Speed up
At the moment it's difficult to post up the site. Deadlines determine the rules. The
deadlines for BOOM! studios and Eppo-magazine. Have to speed up, just like the leading
characters from "the Unknown".
Issue 1 will soon be released (May) and at the moment I'm doing the last pages for issue 2.

Soon, the pre-publication of the Western-comic "Ronson inc." will follow. To be exactly,
the 20th of May, Eppo-magazine issue 9. For the same issue I did a totally unexpected
collaboration with Jorg de Vos, painter of Don Lawrence's Storm.
No, it's not Storm... here is a small fragment of the sketch I did and which will be
painted by the skilled hands of Jorg:
02.04.09 | 15 Minutes with Mark Waid

In a 15 minutes long interview Mark Waid discusses 'The Unknown'.
15.03.09 | The Unknown

Finally readers can have a first look at pages from "The unknown" #1. three pages has been
released in an interview
There will be a 5 page preview in the back of Irredeemable,
the new superhero by Mark waid that will be out soon.
25.02.09 | Cover The Unknown

BOOM! studios has released its solicitations for may on
Comicscontinuum.
Amongst them at the top the first volume of the mini-series written by Mark Waid and art
by me: "The Unknown". Shown are the regular covers by
Paul Pope (a-cover) and Eric Jones (b-cover). The cover (c-cover) I did is a limited variant.
Eric Jones shows the productionprocess of his cover here
and here.
The production-stages of mine can be seen here.
18.02.09 | Comic Publicity Award

Writer Willem Ritstier and I are nominated for the Comic Publicity Award. The Award will be
presented during the Breda Comicon on Februari 28th and March 1st. More about the
convention, the award and the other nominees on their site.

11.02.09 | Draw & Shoot
Sunday, the first of february I finally found the time to roll my bike outside. It was
freezing like hell and it just started to snow and my teeth chattered with cold. Why was
I sitting there? The congenial Karin Ceulemans and Jan Magito came by to do a photo-shoot
and of course they wanted me on my red motorbike everybody sees me riding when I visit
comic-conventions.

Jan en Karin are better known as "Jakari Productions" from Belgium. They produce photo-books about and with comic-artists titled "Draw & Shoot!". Their first book was about Belgian Comic-artists, their second will be about the artists from the Netherlands.
More about this project can be seen on their website
including a part of this shoot. As well the busy picture-clicking Karin, who forgot to put
on her gloves, as the shivering Minck survived. Despite the cold it was a pleasant
afternoon.
06.02.09 | The Unknown
It's official. Announced by Mark Waid during the first day of the New York Comic Con:
One of his new projects is a mini-series called "the Unknown" and it will be drawn by
me. It will be published by BOOM!-studios.
There is an article about
it on Comic Book Recources and there is a smaller one
on Newsarama.
More later. For now a picture of the master himself...
27.01.09 | Ronson inc.

80's of the 20th century, will have its rebirth on the 28th of January 2009. A comic drawn by me will also be
published in this magazine. A western this time, which will be something completely new
to me. The titel is "Ronson inc.". Again, the writing will be done by Willem Ritstier.
